And how we keep you in touch with your community…
We have been busy during the Pandemic that hit us all on a grand scale on March 13, 2020. On that date the start of the ‘shutdown’ began here in town and we made a huge pivot to remote operation immediately and got to work. Since all our systems are online and with the help of a new Zoom account we were able to quickly begin interviews on this platform and also configured a way to broadcast live meetings, town meetings and programs through remote access to our control room and town hall from our laptops and devices. We are proud of the volume and quality of programming we were able to produce with the talents of our existing producers and staff.
During this time Melinda Gallant, Robbie Haigh and Greg Anderson continued their interviews with community leaders, artists, authors, politicians and the famous. Staff member Taiki Magyar began ‘COVID Diaries’ and ‘Sunset Sessions’ which highlighted local non-profits, artists and local musicians.
Through our local radio station WSDH we were able to serenade you with an eclectic blend of musical genres with Beth O’Rourke’s ‘Lowtide Lounge’ and the bountiful music sets uploaded by SCTV radio manager, Nick Polidor.
We collaborated with local community leaders and the Sandwich Enterprise to bring you a new effort called ‘Hear Me Out’ which is a program that fosters communication between community members that may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum. In the essence of healing and finding and committing to our similarities and not our differences we aim to be a driving force in reconciliation through this program.
Watch us here and watch us often. We work tirelessly to bring Sandwich to you through our programming. Our commitment to community runs deep and we are always open to new ideas.
